China and Africa focus on talents cultivation

Recently, the “International Symposium on China-Africa Cooperation in Training Mineral Resources Development Talents” jointly organized by the African Research Center of Yunnan University, the Joint Research Center for African Resources and Development of the Yunnan Institute of Land and Resources, and the African Institute of Economic Research in Kenya was held in Yunnan University.

Energy minerals are the traditional areas of Chinese investment in Africa and are the foundation of China-Africa economic cooperation. Chinese and African enterprises need not only to further deepen their cooperation in the field of mineral energy, but also to cooperate in a broader field such as agriculture, science and technology, and manufacturing. The development of human resources is the basic condition for both parties to continue and deepen their cooperation. The seminar attracted 65 experts, scholars and business representatives, including 8 scholars and government officials from five African countries (Kenya, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Zambia) and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Experts from research institutions attend the meeting. Among them, eight African guests made detailed introduction to the minerals, energy structure and related development policies of their respective countries, and offered valuable opinions on cooperation issues. The organizers of the conference invited participants to visit Yunnan National Land Resources Vocational College, China Overseas Land Road and Bridge Construction Co., Ltd. and Yunnan Phosphor Chemicals Group Co., Ltd. All parties are full of expectation for a beautiful future of China-Africa cooperation.
