The Liaoning Provincial Government website reported on May 8, 2006: Recently, aluminum swarf extruders were successfully developed by Fushun Aluminum Plant on the basis of the former aluminum smelting plant, which not only solved the long-term use of aluminum swarf and caused high wastage rates. Moreover, more than 14 tons of primary aluminum are recovered each year and more than 200,000 yuan is added.
Fushun Aluminum Factory relies on the former electrolytic aluminum plant to process more than 40 tons of aluminum scrap every year. The former used to add aluminum scrap directly to the mixing furnace or electrolytic cell, and the burning rate reached about 50%, resulting in great waste. After the aluminum chip extruder was successfully developed, the extruder squeezed the aluminum chips into pieces and then added them into the furnace to melt them. The burning rate was greatly reduced by only 15%, which not only increased economic efficiency, but also facilitated the operation of the staff.
