Liu Fagang, secretary general of the Hunan Furniture Industry Association, revealed that Hunan will strengthen the testing of children's furniture and other products this year.

According to the requirements of the GB 28007-2011 "General Technical Conditions for Children's Furniture" and other standards, the spot checks were conducted on 61 enterprises in 7 provinces and municipalities including Hunan, Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangdong, and Sichuan. Unqualified products include brands such as Quanyou, Duaiai, I Love My Family, Floral Blossoming, Sampo Songpu Kingdom, Colorful Life, Baotiandi, etc. The product edges and cutting-edge, warning signs are the main unqualified items. Among them, there is a Zhou Carpenter small square table produced by a factory in Hunan with edges and tips and warning signs that are not qualified.

 

According to incomplete statistics, children's furniture sales have accounted for 18% of total furniture sales. Compared with the materials used, the structural safety of children's furniture is often easily overlooked. According to national standards, children's furniture should not have dangerous sharp edges and dangerous sharp points, and corners and edges should be rounded or chamfered.

 

Hunan Province will strengthen the testing of children's furniture and other products

 

After visiting some large-scale home furnishing stores in Changsha, it was found that most of the children's furniture currently on sale are designed with a circular arc edge, and no children's furniture with potential safety hazards has been found.

 

It is worth mentioning that in addition to children's furniture brands , it has been found in many brand furniture stores that some adult furniture, including coffee tables, bedside tables and chairs, often have sharp edges and cutting-edge products.

 

"Large-scale stores have high requirements for furniture, and strict quality control is adopted when entering the market. Even if there are quality problems, unqualified products will definitely be cleared out as soon as possible." In this regard, Jingwanzi Home Plaza General Manager Peng Xu said that whether it is children's furniture or adult furniture, humanized design should be considered for the harm to human body. Families with children should consider safety as their primary consideration when purchasing furniture.

 

Secretary General of Hunan Furniture Industry Association Liu Fagang revealed that in 2014, the association will work with relevant government departments to carry out quality inspection work on hot categories such as children's furniture and best-selling furniture brands throughout the province, requiring companies to produce quality inspection reports for products sold .
