Shanxi Further Consolidates Coal Resources and Pays Attention to Coal Mine Safety

In 2011, Shanxi took the lead in completing the integration of coal resources and mergers and acquisitions of coal mines, and fully entered the stage of modern mine construction. The coal mine safety production situation in the province has continued to improve markedly, and the death rate from coal mines to one million tons has dropped to 0.085.

In order to continue to lay a solid foundation for coal mine safety, from August 10th this year, Shanxi launched a license to renovate and produce mines, integrate and transform mines, mines with weak gas and water treatment, mine management order, and safety supervision. The "team" and other teams focused on the safety production of the 100-day coal mines for key contents and focused on the rectification of special operations. By mid-November, more than 200 mines had been closed, suspended from production, and revoked licenses.

During the rectification period, Shanxi carried out safety checks and hidden trouble investigations on coal mines throughout the province. The Shanxi provincial government formed 11 provincial inspection teams to carry out special actions to clean up and rectify 11 cities across the province. The 11 inspection teams supervised 374 mines, cumulatively detected more than 6,500 general hidden dangers, 29 major hidden troubles, closed 15 mines, suspended work, suspended production of 195 mines, revoked 23 licenses, and imposed administrative punishment of 1.2 million yuan.
