[Reporter]: Mr.Bob, hello! I am very glad that you accepted our interview and would like to ask about the sales performance of the entire Shuda last year.
[Bob]: I am very satisfied with the performance of the Chinese market last year. The growth of the entire Chinese market is about 70%, while the growth of the US side is only 17%. Since the global economic crisis in 2007, the entire market has not been very prosperous, but China's Shuda still has such impressive results.
[Reporter]: The United States authorized four new product lines to China this year. Does it mean that the US headquarters pays more attention to the Chinese market, and more new series of products will enter China in the future.
[Bob]: We have always attached great importance to the Chinese market, which is why we are going to give four new series to China this year. First of all, the first series is the Trump series, which was imported from the United States. Mr. Trump is a well-known TV personality and successful businessman in the United States. He himself is very happy to introduce the Trump series to China. The second series is the “Hotel at Homeby Serta” soft bed series. Schuda is the world's number one hotel mattress supplier, and we have received many customer feedbacks, hoping to bring this hotel-style experience home. Inside, we developed almost 10 new series of products, including mattresses and furniture. The third series is our children's collection, which develops a range of products based on the different stages of the child's physical development, and our product, the child, can be used from birth to 18 years old. The fourth series, which is a new product that we listed in the US market last year, is the most exciting product of our 40-year-old Shuda, called iComfort. In the 1970s, the American people invented this memory cotton, but its characteristics have not been greatly improved since the invention of this memory cotton. The old version has two very obvious flaws. One is that it will make you feel very hot after sleeping for a long time, and you will feel deep down when you sleep, so it is not easy to turn over and get up. Therefore, when we made iComfort products, we used the traditional sponge-injecting gel technology to make this gel sponge. This sponge is seven times cooler than ordinary sponge and has better support.
[Reporter]: So, Shu Da made iComfort, is it wanting to be as popular as the iPhone?
[Bob]: I think the impact of iComfort in the mattress industry will be as strong as the impact of the iPhone in the mobile phone industry. So iComfort's slogan is "smarter, cooler, better." Why is it smarter? Because the gel is injected into the traditional sponge, it not only takes advantage of the coolness and support of the gel, but also avoids the defects of the gel product later. Why is it cooler? Because the sponge itself is breathable, and the gel itself absorbs heat. Why is it better because it takes advantage of the best qualities of both materials?
[Reporter]: China's real estate market was not very good last year. As a real estate downstream industry, home furnishing has also been greatly impacted. I want to know what kind of views Stuart has on this issue. Is there any strategy to deal with it?
[Bob]: It is in response to this situation that we launched these four new series this year, and at the same time broadened the choices of existing customers, making them more enjoyable at the time of purchase, and these new products are being expanded. I believe that Shuda can maintain stable sales in the face of continued economic decline.
[Reporter]: China has just held two sessions. During the two sessions, it is proposed to sink the economy to the second and third-tier markets. There is no plan for this in Shuda, and the product line will be lowered to the second and third-tier markets.
[Bob]: Even if it is a second- and third-tier city in China, it is usually larger than the first-tier cities in the United States. At the same time, we also want to bring comfortable sleep to the Chinese people, so the second and third-tier cities are also the focus of our development.
[Reporter]: In recent years, the rent of the store has been rising. Now many brands are calling for the rent to drop. Recently, a store in Beijing announced that the rent will be lowered by 15%. What kind of profit is the rent reduction for the brand? Will Schuda have some support policies for dealers?
[Bob]: The downgrade of the store rent can bring us customers, and we will do our best to help our dealers to expand more.
[Reporter]: In recent years, China's stores have developed rapidly and are too strong. Many dealers have shouted "the store has kidnapped enterprises." What do you think of this phenomenon?
[Bob]: In the furniture and mattress industry, the furniture store and the manufacturer are actually cooperative. We hope to deepen the cooperation relationship with the store to achieve a win-win goal. We can also expand sales while they expand their business scope.
