In 2010, the total volume and quantity of China's stone imports and exports increased compared with 2009, with imports and exports of 6.395 billion US dollars and 33.86 million tons respectively, an increase of 27% and 15.5% respectively compared with 2009. In 2011, China's total import and export of stone was 12.12 million tons, accounting for 44.9% of the world trade volume; China's total import and export of stone was 1.585 billion US dollars, accounting for 13.2% of world trade. From January to December 2011, the national natural marble building board production reached 65.68 million square meters, an increase of 29.22%. From the production of various provinces and cities, from January to December 2011, the output of natural marble building panels in Guangxi reached 150.58 million square meters, an increase of 26.73%, accounting for 22.93% of the country's total output. Followed by Fujian, Hebei and Shandong, accounting for 15.93%, 10.38% and 8.63% of the total output, respectively. From the perspective of the international market, the growth rate of stone is higher than the growth rate of the world economy. It is expected that the annual growth rate of world stone will still reach 6% in the next 20 years. Therefore, China's stone exports have reasons to be optimistic. Although China's stone enterprises have basically achieved semi-mechanical production. However, stone mining and processing technology is still lagging behind developed countries. For example, the volume of stone blocks mined in countries such as Italy and Spain is generally above 7 cubic meters to 10 cubic meters, while the volume of China's mined stone blocks is mostly below 2 cubic meters. Therefore, the waste of stone resources is very serious. Stone is a non-renewable resource, and improving the level of mining technology is to save stone resources.
