The "600kW submarine tidal power generation machine manufacturing" project is a special fund project for marine renewable energy signed by Harbin Electric in 2010 with the State Oceanic Administration. The main goal of the project is to improve the key equipment and equipment of the tidal power generation system in China through special financial support. The technical level and production capacity of the machine manufacturing realize the domestic production of the 600kW submarine tidal power generation machine.

On September 9, 2019, Harbin Electric's 600kW tidal current generator set was tested in the sea area of ​​Zuoluoshan, Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province.
