U.S.-developed “Hundred Eyes Giants-1†unmanned aerial vehicle.
Beijing on November 30 news, long time, satellites and drones have been responsible for the US military battlefield reconnaissance mission, but soon, a large group of unmanned airships will also join them. A recent unmanned airship named "Argus One" is about to be tested at the U.S. Department of Energy's Nevada test site, which was used as a nuclear weapon test site during the Cold War.
The design of the Hundreds of Giants 1 is much like a sectioned sky bug. It is assembled from several interconnected modules and can quickly change the flight path again. It can carry approximately 30 pounds (about 13.6 kilograms) of investigative and photographic equipment, which makes it worthy of the name of the "Hundred Eyes" in Greek mythology. Department of Defense officials plan to conduct relevant flight tests in December.
This flexible design of the body structure means that the Bactroban-1 can be adapted to the most distant, remote and rugged terrain in most mountains, such as Afghanistan. It can also rely on hangars and airport runway facilities, and perform continuous surveillance investigations for several days in severe weather conditions. Its flight attitude control unit is located inside each of its independent inflatable modules.
According to the performance description of its manufacturer, World Watch Group, the durability and low cost of this type of airship will pose a powerful challenge to manned airships and drones. In addition, this type of airship can even maintain its covert performance over the ground. This is because it uses a radar stealth design throughout its body and only its detection equipment load will generate radar wave reflections. (morning)
