Development of the chemical fiber industry

The development of the chemical fiber industry is mainly affected by downstream raw materials and the upstream textile industry. From the perspective of upstream raw material supply, the import volume of synthetic fiber raw materials in China has been declining with the development of the economy. This has brought light to the development of the chemical fiber industry. In 2004, China’s textile and apparel exports reached about 90 billion US dollars. The development of the textile industry provides more room for the development of chemical fiber applications, and China is constantly researching and developing the application of chemical fibers in other non-textiles.

In recent years, the export volume of chemical fiber in China has increased. From 2002 to 2005, the absolute number of chemical fiber imports in China has decreased, and the number of exports has been increasing. Chemical fiber filaments achieved trade surpluses of $1,358 million and $2,119 million in 2004 and 2005, respectively, and trade surplus in 2004 and 2005 achieved trade surpluses of $134 million and $1,133 million, respectively. It can be seen that the development of China's chemical fiber industry is generally healthy.
