Global crude steel production increased by 5.1% in November from the same period last year

According to statistics of the World Steel Association, in November 2012, the world (62 countries) crude steel production reached 122 million tons, an increase of 5.1% year-on-year.

In November 2012, China's crude steel production was 57.5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%; Japan's crude steel production was 8.5 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.3%; and Korea's crude steel production was 5.6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%.

In the EU region, German crude steel production in November was 3.4 million tons, down 0.2% year-on-year; Italian crude steel production was 2.2 million tons, down 12.9% year-on-year; French crude steel production was 1.3 million tons, down 5.4% year-on-year; Spanish crude steel The output was 1 million tons, down 14.2% year-on-year.

In November, Turkey’s crude steel output was 3 million tons, up 4.6% year-on-year. Russia's crude steel production in November was 5.5 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7%. Ukraine produced 2.7 million tons of crude steel in November, down 7.9% year-on-year.

In the Americas region, crude steel production in the United States in November was 6.7 million tons, down 4.8% year-on-year. In November, crude steel production in Brazil was 2.8 million tons, an increase of 2.4% over the same period of last year.

In November 2012, the utilization rate of crude steel capacity in the world (62 countries) dropped from 76.5 in the previous month to 76.1%, an increase of 1.6 percentage points year-on-year.
