Tajikistan Aluminum Corporation (TALCO) plans to produce 377,600 tons of primary aluminum this year. Last year, primary aluminum production totaled 348,850 tons, a 2.9% drop from 2009.
The senior industry executive, who asked not to be named, said that "in the first quarter of this year, aluminum production will decline by 2%-3%, but the second quarter and third quarter reduction will be compensated."
At present, exports of aluminum from Tajikistan account for 60% of all exports.
