Xinjiang cotton sowing period is late and ready for farming

Xinjiang Meteorological Bureau comprehensive temperature, moisture and forecasting of weather trends during planting and other factors, it is estimated that this year, most cotton areas in southern Xinjiang and Dongjiang cotton areas except Hami, Aksu slightly early, the other major cotton areas Slightly late.

During the winter, the temperature in the characteristic forest fruit growing areas in southern Xinjiang and eastern Xinjiang is low. The extreme minimum temperature in Hami and Bazhou is -22~-27Â°C, and the young trees are heavier.

It is expected that the flowering of the characteristic forest fruit in southern Xinjiang and Dongjiang will be later than normal in 2011. Among them, apricot flowering period Kashgar, Kezhou is 3 to 5 days late, Hetian is close to normal; Badan wood flowering period is 3 days late in Kashi; walnut flowering period Aksu, Kezhou 5 to 6 days later, Hetian is close to normal; apple Aksu was late for 4 days in flowering period; Bazhou was 1 to 3 days earlier in flowering period.

Countermeasures and Suggestions

(1) It is expected that the cotton planting period in most cotton areas in southern Xinjiang and eastern Xinjiang will be slightly late this year. All cotton areas should actively prepare for the work of arable land, rationally arrange the progress of cotton planting, and timely rush to sow and plant.

(2) It is expected that there will be moderately strong weather during the first half of April, and all cotton areas should be well protected against wind and pressure, and the forestry area should implement various preventive measures.

(3) Winter forests in Hami, Bazhou, Aksu and other places suffer from different degrees of freezing damage. The growth of fruit trees should be closely monitored and the management of frozen fruit trees should be strengthened.

(4) All localities should pay close attention to the weather changes, pay attention to listening to the rolling correction weather forecasts issued by meteorological stations at all levels, and do a good job in disaster prevention and mitigation during the sowing period of cotton and the special forest fruit period.
