It is a compound which is copolymerized with vinyl chloride and can crosslink the molecular chain of polyvinyl chloride during the polymerization of vinyl chloride. A monomer having two or more vinyl groups (i.e., a crosslinking agent) is usually used. The polyvinyl chloride is partially crosslinked by the amount of crosslinking agent added. With such a partially crosslinked polyvinyl chloride resin processed article, due to the presence of the microgel, the viscoelasticity of the gel and the sol component are different, and minute irregularities are formed on the surface of the product, which occurs when light is irradiated onto the surface of the product. Reflection, which reduces specular reflection on the surface of the article and exhibits matting properties.
The matt polyvinyl chloride resin can be produced by suspension chemical crosslinking method and overlap polymerization method, and currently mainly uses suspension chemical crosslinking method. In the 1970s, Japan began to study matt polyvinyl chloride resin, and industrialized production in the mid-1980s. At present, there are alizarin chemistry (CD, SD, WX series), Shin-Etsu Chemical (GR series) and electrical chemistry (SR, DR series) which produce matt polyvinyl chloride resin in Japan. In addition, American West Chemical, European EVC, etc. also have matt PVC resin products. Matte PVC resin is still a thermoplastic and can be processed with general plastic processing equipment. Due to the partial cross-linking component in the molecular structure, the melting temperature is high, the melt viscosity is large, the plasticizing time is long, and the processing is difficult. The matt polyvinyl chloride resin can still work with plasticizers to improve its processing properties, reduce the hardness of the product, and obtain hard and soft products with matting effects, such as matt credit card base and matte packaging film. After the plasticization of the matt polyvinyl chloride resin with a degree of polymerization of 2000 to 4000, it has the properties similar to that of a thermoplastic elastomer, and has the advantages of good elasticity and high heat distortion temperature, and is applied to wires, cables, automobile parts and the like. In actual use, the matte polyvinyl chloride resin may be used singly or in a certain ratio with the polyvinyl chloride resin.
