The National Bureau of Statistics announced on January 10 that in December 2018, the ex-factory price of industrial producers nationwide rose by 0.9% year-on-year and 1.0% month-on-month; the purchase price of industrial producers rose by 1.6% year-on-year and 0.9% quarter-on-quarter. The ex-factory price of industrial producers rose by 3.5% over the previous year, and the purchase price of industrial producers rose by 4.1%.
In terms of year-on-year changes in industrial producer prices, the price of production materials rose by 1.0% year-on-year in December, affecting the total level of ex-factory prices of industrial producers by about 0.75 percentage points. Among them, the price of mining industry rose by 3.8%, the price of raw material industry rose by 0.8%, and the price of processing industry rose by 0.8%. The price of living materials rose by 0.7% year-on-year, affecting the total level of ex-factory prices of industrial producers by about 0.16 percentage points. Among them, the price of food rose by 0.9%, the price of clothing rose by 1.6%, the price of general merchandise rose by 0.4%, and the price of durable consumer goods rose by 0.2%.
Among industrial producers' purchase prices, construction materials and non-metals prices rose by 7.9% year-on-year, fuel-powered prices rose by 3.8%, ferrous metal materials prices rose by 2.4%, and non-ferrous metal materials and wire prices fell by 2.0%.
In terms of changes in the prices of industrial producers, the price of production materials fell by 1.3% in December, affecting the overall level of ex-factory prices of industrial producers by about 0.96 percentage points. Among them, the price of mining industry fell by 3.9%, the price of raw material industry fell by 2.5%, and the price of processing industry fell by 0.6%. The price of living materials is flat. Among them, food prices rose by 0.1%, clothing prices rose by 0.2%, general commodity prices fell by 0.1%, and durable consumer goods prices remained flat.
Among the purchase prices of industrial producers, the prices of construction materials and non-metals increased by 1.2%, the price of fuel power decreased by 2.4%, the price of ferrous materials decreased by 1.3%, and the price of non-ferrous materials and wires decreased by 0.5%.
