6. Basic composition and characteristics of lean R&D platform

The lean R&D platform consists of three sub-platforms: technology innovation sub-platform, collaborative simulation sub-platform, and quality management sub-platform. The three sub-platforms are interconnected and operate independently. And it can form good coordination and integration with basic R&D platforms such as CAD/CAM/CAP/PDM.

Features of Lean R&D Platform:

Innovative - integrates the three major technologies of innovation, simulation and quality, and realizes new concepts and technologies;

Advanced - using advanced technologies such as R&D quality bus, R&D quality probes, and middleware;

Applicability - Applicable to the research and development of any complex product engineering, the architecture is in line with China's national conditions;

Integration - The platform itself is closely integrated with the three technologies, and can form a good integration and coordination with CAX/PDM and other systems;

Scalability—The platform uses a flexible underlying platform design based on SOA architecture, and the scalability of the system itself is very good.

Seven, the conclusion

Lean research and development has come to us. A lean R&D platform for complex product development will soon be available in China. The "Chinese definition" era of manufacturing informationization has arrived. The lean R&D platform will surely become the accelerator for Chinese companies to move from “Made in China” to “Created in China”.

Cut Anchor

Functionally, there is no difference between a cut thread and a rolled thread. The difference enters in the manufacture of the bolt. Using 1" anchor bolts as an example the processes are:

Cut thread is created by a process that cuts away the steel from the round bar to form the threads. To cut thread, the process begins with a full 1" diameter round bar. The threads are cut into the round bar resulting in an anchor bolt with 1" diameter threads and a body of 1" diameter.

Rolled thread is created by a process that extrudes steel from the surface of the round bar to form the threads. To roll thread, the process begins with .912" round bar. The round bar is rolled through a set of dies that displace the steel to form the threads. The result is a bolt with 1" diameter thread and a .912" body.

Cut thread meets all ASTM specifications. Rolled thread meets ASTM specifications with the exception of A325 and A490. However, one thing to remember is that Architects and Engineers often specify cut thread for anchor bolts. Cut thread can usually be substituted for rolled thread but the opposite may not always be true.
