Several characteristics of inventorying natural stone

There are two types of stone for building decoration: natural stone and man-made stone, and natural stone. It is a kind of advanced decoration material, mainly used in projects with high requirements of decorative grades. Man-made stone belongs to the lower grade of decorative materials. It is only used in middle and low-grade interior decoration projects.

Natural stone refers to the general term for the products that have been mined from natural rock masses and processed into blocks or plate-like materials. There are two major species of granite used in architectural decoration: granite and marble.

The so-called marble refers to sedimentary or metamorphic rocks of carbonate rocks, marble, dolomite, limestone, sandstone, shale and slate. For example, the famous white marble in China is the dolomite produced in Beijing Fangshan, and the marble in Yunnan is the marble produced in Dali County. The famous Dandong Green is the serpentinized skarn. Similarly, various types of magmatic rocks, such as granite, andesite, diabase, travertine, gneiss, etc., are used for stone mining as granite. For example, the white granite of Beijing Baihuci is a granite, Jinanqing is gabbro, and the black granite of Qingdao is a diabase.

Artificial stone is a synthetic decorative material. According to the different binders used, it can be divided into organic artificial stone and inorganic artificial stone. According to their different production processes, they can be divided into four types: polyester artificial marble, composite artificial marble, silicate artificial marble, and sintered artificial marble.

There is a variety of marble called Xiaolanbao, also known as Pingnan G654. Xiaolanbao is a newly developed stone product for Pingxia Development Zone. Small sapphire material with a small blue crystal point, also known as "Blue Starlight." Because of the similar import of "tree hanging ice", so with the domestic "tree hanging ice" of the name is mainly used for exterior walls, countertops, outdoor square (fire board). It is a building decoration of four artificial stone decoration materials, organic (polyester type) is the most commonly used, its physical and chemical properties are also the best.

1. Fire resistance

All kinds of stone are different. Some stones are chemically decomposed under the effect of high temperature.

(1) Gypsum: Decomposes at greater than 107C.

(2) Limestone, Marble: Decompose at greater than 910 c.

(3) Granite: Cracked at 600 °C due to uneven heating of the constituent minerals.

2. Expansion and contraction

Stone is also hot and cold, but if it is cooled after being heated, its shrinkage will not return to its original volume, but it will retain a part of it to become permanent expansion. The American Armory had tested from 00C to 1000C and then to 00C, measuring permanent. The degree of increase in swelling is 0.02-0.045 %.

3. Frost resistance

When it reaches minus 20 o C, freezing occurs, and the expansion of water in the pores is 1/10 larger than the original volume. If the rock cannot resist the force generated by this expansion, it will be destroyed. Generally if the water absorption is less than 0.5%, its frost resistance is not considered.

4. Compressive strength

The compressive strength of stone varies depending on factors such as mineral composition, crystal thickness, uniformity of cemented material, load surface area, loading angle, and angle of cleavage. If the other conditions are the same, the dense material, which is usually fine in crystal grains and adhered to each other, has higher strength. After the dense volcanic rocks are dry and saturated, there is no difference in compressive strength (water absorption is extremely low). In the case of porous and water-resistant cemented rocks, there is a significant difference in the strength of drying and moisture.
